Contributions by members of The Buena Vista Social Club and some of the British and American artists of the moment most famous album Rhythms del Mundo Cuba is a musical project to benefit the organization APE (Artists Project Earth) that promotes actions to combat climate change and global warming.

An album from the union of Afro-Cuban sounds of The Buena Vista Social Club with tracks from bands like Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Coldplay, The Kaiser Chiefs, Jack Johnson and more. It also has one of the most famed Cuban vocalists, Omara Portuondo , and the last recording Ibrahim Ferrer.



Rhythms World is an electrifying album that fuses music of different cultures with a unique result. Arranged by Demetrio Muñiz , the main recording sessions took place in Havana at Abdala Studios from April 2005 to June 2006. Most vocal are the original bases. From the original orchestration from each song The Buena Vista Social Club has created something unique giving his trademark to each topic. Even the Arctic Monkeys overprotective have given one of his songs. The group's policy not to license their tracks to compilations, but I liked the result and were delighted that the item be included in album. Like the song "Dancing Shoes" by Arctic Monkeys, Rhythms Del Mundo includes re-recorded tracks like "Clocks" by Coldplay, "Better Together" Jack Johnson, "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5, "High and Dry" Radiohead and others. also contains music of renowned Cuban artists such as Omara Portuondo and the last bolero singer Ibrahim Ferrer Afro-Cuban who died tragically in 2005. Other Cuban musicians from The Buena Vista Social Club participating in the album include Barbarito Torres, Amandita Valdes, Virgilio Valdes, Angel Terri Domech, Manuel 'Guajiro' Mirabal, Orlando Lopez 'Cachaíto' and Demetrio Muniz.



Kenny Young, producer and Founder / Administrator of APE, explains how the project: "The project was precipitated after the devastating tsunami of Christmas 2005. The idea was to a project with The Buena Vista Social Club, fuse their Latin sounds with Western artists and their most popular. The project grew with the following environmental disasters that hit us - the earthquakes in Asia and Hurricane Katrina. The main character is the change climate. They may be called natural disasters but after investigations and scientific data, we know that we are partly to blame of these disasters. Global warming is a story of which is spoken daily in the media. Failure to act within the time given to us by experts, our grandchildren will curse us eternally " . artists participating in this album fully support this musical project and the cause he advocates. Thom Yorke says: " We need a law, we need for the Government to the problem of climate change where it belongs. If we expect to be the industry who voluntarily seek solutions, we are lost. So anyone concerned about climate change has to bring this concern to his Government because it is the only way to get something " .
